Nausea is a common sickness that causes the continuous sensation of an urge to vomit. There a various causes that lead to this: motion sickness, eating too much, intaking too much alcohol, Consuming medicine on an empty stomach, and not eating enough. Allergies can cause an immediate reaction, which is less likely nausea, but the body’s attempt to rid itself of the allergen/substance.
Due to our neurological nature, nausea is most often physical, but can be a psychological reaction to an unsettling thought or situation. Anxiety is an example of a psychological situation that causes nausea. While typically short-lived, nausea can be prolonged and proceed to be debilitating. It is paired with stomach aches and pains, and can cause a heaviness in the abdomen.
Nausea can be self-standing, or be a symptom of an underlying disease or illness. Most commonly infections, pregnancy, concussions, and ulcers are prone to present nausea above any other symptom. Causes such as bacteria or viruses can take longer to present than others like allergic reactions, overeating, medication, or motion sickness.

We schedule same-day and future date appointments, with our patient care coordinators available from 7 AM – 9 PM everyday. Our providers are on-call from 8 AM – 8 PM, 7 days a week.
